300 works from 88 countries towards the We Art Water Film Festival 3

  • The registration period closes with a spectacular increase in the international participation, especially from Asian and African countries
  • The shortlisted works will be announced in the next few weeks

The third edition of the We Art Water Film Festival has entered the selection period of the finalist works that will be chosen from the 300 that have been pre-selected. This initiative from the Foundation has experienced a spectacular increase in the number of international participants, reaching 88 countries, 10 more than in the 2014 edition.

Spain is again the country with more participants, with 28 presented video artists, but India, with 25 and Bangladesh, with 20, are close behind. These are countries that lead the impressive dissemination the Festival has reached in Asia, a continent that counts on the first ever participation of Iran, Afghanistan and South Korea.

The number of creators from the African continent has also shown a significant increase, with participants from Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia. In Europe the new incorporations come from Moldavia, France, Belgium, Czech Republic and Serbia.

The shortlisted artists will be announced in the next few weeks, after their works, which address the topic “Water and Sanitation,” have been submitted for the consideration of the jury

ABOUT THE WE ARE WATER FOUNDATION

The We Are Water Foundation, promoted by the Roca company, has as objectives, on the one hand, to raise awareness amongst the general public and the administrations about the need to promote a new culture of water and, on the other hand, relieve the negative effects related to the lack of hydric resources, through the development of cooperation and aid programmes alongside diverse organisations such as Education without Frontiers, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, Intermón Oxfam and UNICEF.
