About
The We Art Water Film Festival is an international short-film competition organised by the We Are Water Foundation, which aims to recognize and reward the talent of all those people with a clear awareness of the water problem around the world which are also able to capture it in their own film productions.
The main objective is to raise awareness of the water problem around the world through the creation of audio visual pieces that address this issue.
2020/21 Edition
The fifth edition of the We Art Water Film Festival was a success that broke all participation records: 3,362 registered authors from 131 different countries.
The winners were announced on March 22, 2021, World Water Day. The ceremony awards had a hybrid format (online and in-person) due to the covid-19 pandemic and took place at the emblematic Roca Barcelona Gallery.
The ThemeClimate crisis
All submitted pieces need to be related to the current climate crisis, linking it to the global water and sanitation problem and its relation to hygiene, pollution, agriculture, diseases, nutrition, education, etc…
2.100 Million people lack safely managed drinking water services.
4.200 Million people live without a safe toilet.

A total of 4 awards for each category will be awarded , totaling € 10,000 in prizes

Judith Colell
Curator
Judith Colell also collaborates in this edition as the curator of the Festival. A member of the jury in the previous editions, she is a Spanish filmmaker and member of the Board of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
