Conrad Mess, originally from Zaragoza (Spain) - considered the most awarded iPhone filmmaker in the world, has conquered Hollywood with his ​​talent and his iPhone. He is a specialist in Smartphone filmmaking, as well as the co-Director of the 'San Diego Film School', an organization with the aim of spreading this new way of filmmaking through seminars and master classes.

The We Are Water Foundation had the opportunity to interview Conrad during his time at the Mobile World Congress, which took place earlier this month in Barcelona, and ​​to chat about the new Instagram category of this edition of the We Art Water Film Festival.

In summary, Conrad tells us that the idea is the most important thing in a competition like the We Art Water Film Festival, regardless of using a camera or a mobile phone to shoot it. Conrad insists that the idea has to be powerful and not to fall within the stereotypes that too often accompany videos related to NGOs. From his experience, he states that 15 seconds is more than enough to capture a good idea and convey the message of the water problem - the main objective of the We Are Water Foundation. Likewise, if you intend to participate in this Instagram category, it is worth knowing a few tricks that Conrad shares with us, such as the use of tripods for getting very steady shots and a more professional look for your film; but more importantly, the recommendation to use a 'Case' which is called 'Focus', to put on the iPhone, and which has several lenses (such as a wide angle lens), as well as plenty of other options that will give your video the best professional look. Finally, Conrad also gives us a few hints about his creative process, where music plays a key role.
