Interview with Agustí Villaronga, president of the jury in this second edition of the We Art Water Film Festival

February 10, 2014

Agustí Villaronga, film director, screenwriter and actor, is the president of the jury of the second edition of the We Art Water Film Festival.

Agustí Villaronga, acclaimed filmmaker, awarded with the National Cinematography Award in 2011 and overall winner of the XXV edition of the Goya Awards for his film 'Pa Negre', is the president of the jury of this edition of the We Art Water Film Festival.

The We Are Water Foundation had the opportunity to talk to Agustí during the presentation of the Festival last September at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. You may watch the full interview here:

In summary, Agustí talks about his commitment and involvement with the initiative of the Foundation and the key role that movies can play as a way to give notoriety to global causes. Likewise, he was sincere and commented that it is very difficult for him to give advice to the participants, because based on his own experience, every person, every creator works on a problem or challenge in a very personal way. What he said also is that according to his understanding, the issues included in this year's Festival can be addressed in two ways: first, to merely spread the message, which means making people aware of the following problems - difficulty in accessing clean water and adequate sanitation, and secondly, to inform 'uninformed' people at a local level.

The Foundation is honored to have the participation of Agustí Villaronga as the president of the jury of the Festival, and it greatly appreciates his commitment and friendliness.
