Embedded Water
Short Video-2.54 minutes, 2013.
In the name of urbanization we in Bangalore have dried up hundreds of lakes, the lakes remained are not usable. River Cauvery and her tributaries with their tributaries are the veins of south Karnataka and Tamilnadu state. How long they are going to flow not known.
Water is an essential part of our daily lives in many more ways than we realize. Rice, dal, vegetables, Juice, clothing, our cars and homes, and even electricity all have water embedded in them. Embedded water or Virtual water is the water used to produce food and non-food products. Embedded water in 1 liter of coco cola or other soft drink is 7 liters of water+ the plastic bottle which goes for garbage most of the time, Recycle needs water too.
A sheet of A4 size paper needs 10litres of water,
Cotton T shirt has 4000 liters embedded water in it,
Mango 1 kilogram =1900liters,
Banana 1Kilgram = 500liters,
